Abatement of oil residues from produced water using a thermocatalytic packed bed reactor

چکیده
Produced water is a major waste and environmental concern in the oil gas industry, since it contains dispersed dissolved compounds, which may harm aquatic environment. Thus, focus on offshore treatment of produced required. Current methods include hydrocyclones clarifiers that cannot achieve full abatement oily contaminants. Here we propose novel thermocatalytic degradation using thermocatalyst, namely Sr 0.85 Ce 0.15 FeO 3 perovskite benefits from thermal energy contained water, has temperatures 40–50 °C when reaching cleaning phase. It found removed faster with higher concentrations, initial removal mainly adsorption to surface followed by catalytic degradation. Based batch testing, lab-scale packed bed reactor (PBR) modelled showing can be continuously sufficient residence time reactor. • Degradation synthetic thermocatalyst investigated. Oil catalyst A dimensioned for continuous removal. ensuring

Investigating the Batch and Continuous Transesterification of Linseed Oil by Using a Alkaline Heterogeneous Catalyst in a Packed Bed Reactor
Both the continuous and batch transesterification of linseed oil were examined in order to maximize the fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) yield. The continuous process was conducted in a packed bed reactor using calcium oxide as a heterogeneous catalyst. In addition, the impact of two variables, namely the molar ratio of methanol to oil and the flow rate (ml/min), on the FAME yield were stu...
متن کاملOptimal synthesis of rotating packed bed reactor
Rotating packed bed (RPB), a novel apparatus involving process intensification (PI), has been successfully used in the chemical industry in recent decades. In this paper, we establish a connection between process integration and process intensification for which we propose a superstructure involving a RPB and a packed bed (PB) in order to determine the optimal integrated design. We describe mod...
متن کاملTreatment Of Slaughterhouse Effluent Using Upflow Anaerobic Packed Bed Reactor
Most of the slaughterhouses in the state of Kerala (India) do not have proper and effective effluent treatment facilities. Collection of blood and separation of manure to reduce the very high organic load of the effluent are also not practiced. As a result, large volumes of extremely complex effluents with high content of fat, grease, and protein are discharged into land or water bodies causing...
متن کاملOxidation of Ethene in a Wall-cooled Packed- Bed Reactor
Abstract--The selective oxidation of ethene over a silver on cx-alumina catalyst was studied in a pilot plant with a wall-cooled tubular packed bed reactor. Gas and solid temperatures in the catalyst bed were measured at different axial and radial positions as well as concentrations at different axial position. Total pressure, inlet mole fraction ethene, mass flow rate and wall temperature were...
متن کاملWater pollution abatement by catalytic wet air oxidation in a trickle bed reactor
Catalytic wet air oxidation of an aqueous phenol solution was carried out in a trickle bed reactor at mild conditions of temperature (120–160◦C) and oxygen partial pressure (0.6–1.2 MPa). Tests were performed at space times up to 1 h. A commercially available copper oxide supported over g-alumina was used as catalyst. The results show that the phenol conversion, the chemical oxygen demand (COD)...
